Are you sleeping.....are you sleeping.....Baby Garrett???

Garrett has always been a pretty good sleeper! He has had his struggles, but I can't complain because I haven't fed him in the night since he was two months old! If he wakes up in the night, I admit it, I don't even hear him! Colin is the best dad and gets up to help him go back to sleep by playing the what we like to call...."the binkie game!" Morning comes and I wake up and say...."Wow Colin, Garrett slept great last night! I didn't hear him once!" Colin then replies, "That's weird because I got up two times to put his binkie back in!" ha ha ha Thanks honey!

The "swaddle me" blanket was definitely one of the best things we have used for our son since he was born! We were so grateful that a great mom gave me one as a baby gift. It was so helpful for her that she wanted to share it with me! That is one of the best things about being a mom is getting ideas and tips from other great moms on what worked for them. When Garrett was first born, we would just swaddle him with a "regular blanket!" He did not last long and would kick his way out. With the special blanket, it is shaped just right for swaddling and has velcro fasteners to keep it tight! WELL, our little magician managed to escape almost every time we would put it on him, but it sure helped him calm down and go to sleep! We tried to squeeze him into the size small (up to 14 lbs.) when we knew he was well over in weight and length! We gave in and got a size large and have been using that for the last few months!

Well, after escaping multiple times a night we figured that he was trying to tell us that he was a "big boy" and didn't need to be swaddled every night! So, we are proud to announce that he is sleeping without it and has been for over a month now! He has done really well! I noticed that when he was getting tired and I would try to lay him down, as soon as I would lay his back down on his mattress he would squirm and wake up. I decided to try and lay him on his side like I was holding him...I quickly put some pillows behind him to help prop him up and "viola" he stayed asleep! He eventually rolls to his back and is fine! What a cute little bug! This is definitely a perfect model pose! I don't think many can sleep like that, but he does! Babies are sure cute when they sleep and I must admit, I love going in to check on him to see his cute positions and faces!

Is that a smile? He must love how comfy his
Mom and Dad's bed is!

No binkie...I've got fingers!

Snug as a bug in a rug on our first
camping trip!

Those are some strong legs to help
him escape!

Colin, I will try and get Dave to do a post...up until now he has refused. I have tried to get him to do a sports blog since that is what he loves. Not luck so far.

Your little Garrett is so cute! I love to see pictures of him growing up...and they do it so fast. Boys are so fun, and so full of energy and adventure.

Colin. I am leaving a comment on your blog. Nice looking blog. Amy has been trying me to get into this blog stuff. I think I have a good idea for one...something along the line of married mormon man blog....for all those husbands whose wifes are obessed with blogging. Do they have a spell checker on this blog comment interface or whatever it is? What are you doing this weekend? What is up with Catten?

Trish! Your baby is getting so big! It sounds like you are having a great time being a mom, and a great one too! We all need to get together soon!
