The holiday season!

I can't believe that Christmas is almost here! I can't believe that Christmas is almost here and I am not even CLOSE to ready for it! It seems like the time has gone by so fast...like just yesterday was Thanksgiving! Soon Christmas is going to be here and past and then we will be in 2009! AHHHH That means that my baby is going to be one!

Well, I wanted to post a few fun pictures of our holidays so far. Thanksgiving was great with the Lewis family. Garrett sure enjoyed his "turkey shake" that dad made him. We have a baby food processor and Colin makes the greatest creations for Garrett and he loves them! Garrett sure has been a great eater and loves anything that we give him!
My favorite part about Thanksgiving, besides the pie, is the day after Thanksgiving! No I am not talking about the sales on black Friday! Colin braved the crowds last year for the first time and vowed to never go back! I am with him on that! What I love most about the day after Thanksgiving is what it means for our family! Seven years ago, the day after Thanksgiving, was the anniversary of our first date! Yes, it has been seven long years since that cold November night when Colin and I first went out! What is so fun about it is that every year since then, we have gone and done the same thing that we did that night! This is a tradition that I think will last for a very long time! I don't know how many couples out there celebrate the anniversary of their first date, but we sure have had fun doing it.

Every year on the day after Thanksgiving we go to the restaurant, Italian Village. It is a little place in Murray that is delicious! The famous item on the menu is PIZZA BENDERS!! This is what we get every year! IF you have been to Italian Village, you know what I am talking about. IF you have NOT been to Italian Village, you need to go! It is a fun small place with great food! After we eat, we go and see the lights at Temple Square. It is fun to be there on the first night of the "season". WE haven't ever seen them turn them on, but maybe one year we'll make it for that! It is just fun to walk around and get into the spirit of Christmas. This year was especially fun because we got to take Garrett! We think it will be a fun family tradition to do with our kids and are looking forward to many more fun years together. It was cute to see Garrett all bundled up in his new coat, hat, and mittens. He loved looking around at all the bright lights! I think he stayed warm and we had a great time. We can't wait until next year when we celebrate again!

Look at all the colorful lights!

One happy family!

Oh Trish, your family is so cute. I seriously get the biggest squeeze attack when I see pictures of Garrett. And it is even better in person! : )
What a cute and fun tradition!
Hope you are all well!

It is a fun family tradition and I'm glad that you have fun "reliving the first date" with me. Love you.

I'm so proud of you for braving the cold to go look at the lights. Garrett looks so snug and bundled. Nate and I talked about going, but decided not to venture out since we've all been so sick lately.
