It's time to boogie!

These last few weeks have been exciting for our tiny family. Each week brings a new and exciting adventure with the baby. Two weeks ago, we heard the heart beat again at the doctor's office. At 18 weeks a routine question for the nurse to ask is "Have you felt the baby move yet?" Trish wasn't sure yet, but as she began to describe some of the little sensations that she has been feeling the nurse said that it was definitely the baby.

Here is a transcript from that appointment:
Trish: "It feels like little pains, almost like Zzzzztt! Almost like mini cramps or tiny pinches. Zzzzt! Zzzzt!"
Colin: "Trish, we're not have a baby robot."
Doctor: "You never know. It's too early to tell for sure."

Since then, Trish has more easily recognized the baby's movement, especially over the past week. In fact, Colin has even been able to feel little kicks and robot Zzzzts! It's amazing to think that there is a living, moving life form inside there!

The doctor has said that these first couple of weeks are really fun to feel the little guy. By about 25 weeks it will become really noticeable. And by about 30 weeks we will wish the baby would just hold still so that Trish can sleep at night! But for now, we will enjoy our little robot and his movement, kicks, punches, or Zzzzzts!

The other night I dreamed my friend was going to birth a car. Like a little car that would grow up to be a big car. So, you never know, the ZZZzzt sensation could be the little car's window going up and down. We can't just limit this to robots.
I love hearing what it is like. I am taking notes.
