Our Future Aggie

Trish will be half-way there tomorrow. In fact, we have renamed the holiday to be "Half-way to Labor" Day. Most people barely find out the gender of their baby at 20 weeks, but we feel lucky that we've had a few extra ultra-sound looks at our fetus and have been told what our baby is most likely to be (remember, 85% boy). Our doctor was joking about his original prediction, saying that our baby was only 85% man, leaving the other 15% for a feminine side. Trish is glad to have had some motherly influence and thinks that means our boy will like dancing like she does! We did hear a lady at church say that she was surprised to have a boy when the doctors had been telling her it would be a girl. So I guess you never really know until the baby is born.

Now that we're at the half-way point, there is definitely a noticeable change in Trish's tummy. One book we read said that the uterus is roughly the size of a cantaloupe. She can still wear most of her shirts, but her pants are beginning to feel a little bit tight. I know exactly how she feels because their tummies are almost the same size!! Trish has found that the rubber band trick has worked quite well (girls will know what she is talking about).

I think that it's funny how Trish is embarrassed about it. When she was first pregnant, she didn't want to tell people until she was showing. Now that she's showing, she wants to hide it. Trish has told me that I just don't understand. I do have a belly, but she's right, I guess I don't get it. She says that she'll get over it in a few weeks but that she is just in the awkward stage of just feeling fat.

With another month comes another profile picture, my favorite part of this blog. We were up in Logan and decided to take the picture at the famous True Aggie 'A'. While we were there, we also got our son a little Aggie outfit and took him to his first (of many) football games. I was sure a proud dad, to have my son by my side for a game. I tried to teach him about the subtleties of the west coast offense, the difference between defensive holding and pass interference, and how to spot a blitz, but I don't think he absorbed it all. Oh well, there's plenty of time for that once he's born. Maybe if we're lucky, our little guy will be a future Aggie like his mommy and daddy.
