"A 105% BOY!"

Well, we think that makes in official.....Dr. Jackson gave us the confirmation to his previous prediction of only 85% boy! Now it is 105% boy! I guess that means that there is no room for dancing and drama! :)

We are very excited to have a boy! Colin is already starting to make plans of sporting events, father and son trips, and so much more! I am excited to have a boy too...the thought of a tiny blonde baby boy that looks like his dad just makes me smile! I hope that there is some resemblence to his mom so that they know he's my son too! :)

We went to the doctor to have the "big ultrasound." I was sorta nervous knowing that they would be looking very closely at everything and that meant more possibility of finding something wrong. One of the biggest concerns with diabetic moms is the chance for heart problems. So, Dr. Jackson probably spent a good 15 minutes focused right on the heart. It made Colin and I both very nervous that he wasn't saying much, but knew that meant he was looking carefully. When we finally broke the silence and asked, "how does it look Dr." He replied, "Very good!" He went back and showed us and tried to explain what we were looking at. He also commented that because me blood sugars have been in control and he felt that everything looked great, that he wasn't going to send me to see the pulmonary cardiologist to get an eciogram of the baby's heart. That was so great to hear! What a relief to know that everything looks like it is growing and developing the way it should! Our little guy is now about the size of the burrito, the doctor said, and he weighs just over 1 pound.

Speaking of growing.....I am definitely growing too! My pants are definitely getting tight! In fact, last week I got into the car and sat down and popped a button right off my pants! They were even my "big pants!" It was depressing! But, Colin agreed to take me shopping to get some new pants....and even endured the twenty pairs that I tried on! We got some that I hope will last! I am still fitting into most everything and am trying to endure as long as I can in my regular clothes knowing that maternity clothes are going to get real old! I have had some great friends give me some of their maternity clothes to use! That will help make things a lot easier! I am embracing the idea of a tummy slowly, but surely. It is just hard when people comment not only on the size of your tummy, but that your face is filling out nicely too! AHHHH

The most fun part about the last few weeks is the movement that Colin and I have both felt. One of Colin's greatest days so far he said was last Friday when he saw my tummy move on it's own! Our lil' guy must have enjoyed his breakfast because my belly was going wild with all sorts of "twitching" movement! It is cute to see Colin's face with amazement all over it as he reacts to every kick that he feels and sees! We know that our son will only kick more as the weeks go on our doctor said that we may even get tired of it! As for now, we love it and it helps comfort me knowing that he is active! Colin hopes that he is building strong muscles with all this activity so that he'll be ready to play sports!

Yeah for boys! I'm so excited for you and that you and the baby are doing well and are healthy! Isn't pregnancy fun (most of the time)? I loved my pregnancy with AG and experiencing all the new things that came with it. All except for buttons popping off (hehe, I laughed). And, for the record, my face is a balloon when I'm pregnant too. It's okay, it slowly deflates and eventually gets back to normal after the baby is born. IN the meantime, just milk it for all it's worth and make people wait on you. That's the only thing that got me through feeling like a pork belly pig.
And also a word of caution, I always want the weight to come off with the birth of the baby. Well . . . it doesn't on any normal, non-anorexic woman. My doctor says it takes nine months to get that big, so it will take at least that long to get it off. Takes me about a year. Not to discourage you, I just want to warn you and let you know you're in good company with the rest of the eating female pre and post-partum population. Thanks for the update!

Alright! Congrats on the boy. I hope my first is a boy too, but that won't be for a while. Just because I said that, I'm probably going to have all girls! Congrats again.

Oh, that is great! Congratulations. Boys are so much fun, I love my two, in fact they are the sweetest little ones I have. And they are so fun to feel inside you kicking and squirming.
