Not much progress

Now that we've got you all sitting by your computers waiting for updates, our update is that there isn't much to update! Trish is only dialated to about a 2 or 3, but she is continuing to have contractions and frequent checkups.

You can in this picture, the blue line on the bottom is the contractions and the red line is the baby's heartbeat. Both are looking pretty good!

I had some lunch this afternoon over in the hospital cafeteria. Trish was loving the epidural and a chance to get some sleep, so I slipped out for about 20 minutes. The thing Trish says that she wants most right now (besides the baby to come out) is a drink. She had been able to nibble on ice chips until recently when the doctor said that she shouldn't have anything in her digestive system, just in case we need to do cesarean delivery.

At some point over the next 8 hours or so, we will have to see how far Trish has progressed in terms of dialation and make a decision. If she hasn't progressed far enough, they won't leave her on the Oxytocin forever and we will probably need to do the cesarean delivery. We should be meeting with our actual doctor sometime in the next hour or two.

More updates when we have more news. Until then, here I am playing a card game with the Mommy-to-be to help pass the time:

Have you tried jumping on her stomach to get the baby out? Or, you could take a rolling pin and slowly work it out... gently of course. Doctors tend to frown on the practice, but in your case it might be worth a shot!

Hang in there guys. This will not be the last time this kid will try your patience.
